The grilled bass is cooked to perfection. We also had grilled tiger fish which was delicious. This is my second time visiting this place and their food is on point.

Going on 9/18/24 to celebrate 82 years on planet Earth. My family had seafood restaurant in NY and I have eaten at great places throughout world from China to Tasmania and Peru to Finland. Reviews of O Robalo very wonderful. I am hypercritical so if my review is 4* or higher you can be 100% sure this is an awesome establishment. I will take photos and post them. So far my time in Porto has sucked due to fires causing unhealthy air quality. My pre-dinner review will be 5* which I truly hope to confirm.I hope we meet Joaquin (owner).

This is my post meal review. Isn’t it wonderful when your expectations are not only met but surpassed. When the Uber dropped us off, we were welcomed by the site of the staff of the restaurant. I can’t imagine anyone eating here not being thrilled with this delicious food. We had the clams and olive oil, and I would’ve been happy sitting here eating that all night long. The lobster melted in your mouth. The sellers with unique in the magical combination of olive oil and vinegar, but over the years I’ve tried to duplicate but never could. I made the mistake of being so delighted with dipping my bread in the olive oil, but I could not finish the seared bass and had to offer it to my son. The vino branco Cartuxa was perfect for the meal. Pacheca tawny port (30yrs old) was a finishing touch.
O Rabalo is a GEM. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The service waslike family. Bravo Joaquin & wonder Staff.- Serviço

The char-grilled sea bass was delicious. Beautifully moist delicate fish with just a little caramelisation and smokiness. Presented and served with great style. Served with confit potatoes and a fresh salad. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Food doesn’t have to be complicated to be this good!

Great restaurant with delicious food and wide choose of wine. You can see what you can eat on the exhibition by the entrance where fresh caught fish and seafood are lying on ice. Delicious octopus! Prices are bit high, but totally worth it. Really friendly and professional service.

I didn’t know it’s possible, but the grilled seabass was even better than my grandma’s fish! Crispy outside, just inside. So sad that this i only discovered this at the last evening of our stay in Matosinhos, otherwise i will come every day.
Amazing fish and service! We asked for the robalo fish and it was delicious. The team helps you cutting it and they take the spins off, turning you job very easy. Just be careful for the price, because your meal can be very expensive. If you don't want to spend much, one of the cheapest things that I saw on the menu was the cod fish for 28 euros.
Fabulous lunch. Huge portion of 6 fat sardines with potatoes and salad for 12.50E and hubby on the squid after a shared prawn starter. Friendly kind service and a pleasure to watch the chef bbq-ing fish after fish after fish. Just had to have the creme brûlée to finish, which is cooked using a hot metal plate from the bbq coals - 15 seconds of sizzling et voila!!
